George Parker was born in 1781, in Pennsylvania, the son of UE Loyalist John Parker and his wife, Nancy Watson. George came to Upper Canada with his parents and siblings, following the American Revolution, settling in Lincoln County. In 1808, he married Hannah McGaw, daughter of Patrick McGaw.
When the War of 1812 broke out, George joined the 3rd Regiment Lincoln Militia in June 1812, along with his brothers William and Samuel (killed in action July 1812), serving as a Private under Captain John Hardy. George’s service is well documented in the War of 1812 Upper Canada Returns, Nominal Rolls and Paylists, RG 9 1B7. As well, he received a Certificate of Service which allowed him to receive 100 acres of land. In addition, George received his Order in Council on 9 June 1812 for his grant as the son of a UE Loyalist and took possession of Lot 13 Conc 1 of Yarmouth on 30 Sept 1817.
George and Hannah had the following children:

George died 5 June 1838 and was laid to rest in Seminary Cemetery, a short distance from his farm. Hannah died in Bayham Twp on 3 Oct 1849 and was laid to rest in the Sims-Martin Cemetery on Calton Line.
