John Silverthorn3rd Regiment Lincoln Militia

John Silverthorn was born on the 14th of September 1786 in Hardwick Township, Sussex County, New Jersey.  He was one of nine known children born to Thomas Silverthorn Jr. and Rachel Huff who settled in Stamford around 1787.  John was the grandson of Thomas Silverthorn Sr. UEL and Johanna Newman.

William Cregar3rd Regiment Lincoln Militia

Research compiled by the Heritage Arts Legacy of Fort Erie

William Cregar was born c1780.  He was the son of Peter Cregar who settled in Bertie Twp. on Lots 4 &5, Conc 7.

William married a lady by the name of Christiana and on June 21, 1808 they baptized two daughters, Margaret and Anna Catherine at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Niagara-on-the-Lake.  On September 15, 1822, William and Christiana had son George baptized by Rev. Ralph Leeming at Chippawa.

Jacob Benner3rd Regiment Lincoln Militia

Jacob Benner, Jr. was born in 1783 and baptized on November 16, 1783 at  St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Red Hook, Dutchess County, New York, USA.  He was the son of Jacob Benner, Sr. and Susannah Pinck.  Jacob came to Canada with his parents in June 1798 at the age of 15 years.

Conrad Jansen3rd Regiment Lincoln Militia

In older records, there is much confusion between the surnames Johnson, Johnston and Jansen.
Conrad Jansen was the son of Jehoiakim Jansen; grandson of Coenraad Jansen, UE and Mary his wife.  Conrad was born in Bertie Twp. in 1796 likely a few hundred yards from his resting place.  Following the deaths of his grandfather and father, he inherited the lands just west of the Zion Cemetery.

Charles Hibbard3rd Regiment Lincoln Militia

Charles Hibbard was born c1777 in Pennsylvania, USA.     Some records researched have shown his parents as Charles Hibbard and Lucy Emerson, this fact however cannot be substantiated with source documents.     He married Elizabeth Buck UE on 15 May 1805, in Fort Erie, Ontario.
